As a vampire,
Every now and again I feel the urge
to suck the blood of the forest,
for absorbing the soul of the world.
Because I cannot look
at the wild animals at the eyes
except here;
I drink the magic and I pay
for the poison that cures me.
I return,
with those who have no fear.
I laid in the grass,
knowing that somewhere,
very close,
the bears were still sleeping.
I felt their heartbeats
throbbing in my temples,
and I didn’t tremble.
